I was fourteen years old getting ready for school,
I went to the front door to pick up our daily newspaper like I always did.
But this day was going to be like no other , what I was about to discover
was going to have a big impact on my life.
Printed on the front page was the headline
" The King Is Dead "
" Elvis Presley Just died in a hospital in Memphis Tennessee "
So now I'm sitting there looking at this man and I start reading about this man,
his music and his life.
Then I turn on the radio and his songs are playing on all the stations
Well I am now captivated by Elvis Presley .
I recall this being my very first memory of Elvis Presley
From that day on I would begin to learn the songs of Elvis and emulate his moves.
Of course we all know there will never be another singer
and entertainer like Elvis,
with his looks , charisma , charm , and that truly magical voice,
he had it all.
He really was a gift to all of us who love his music.
No Elvis impersonator can even hope of coming close to what Elvis was.
I do my tribute to Elvis because I have a very deep passion for his music from the early
rockabilly years to the sixties and seventies.
From the fast rock songs to the ballads and those great gospel songs.
There are millions of Elvis fans out there including myself who were not
lucky enough to see Elvis perform live.
So if you get a chance to see my tribute to Elvis
you will certainly get a small taste of that experience, and also you will
have a great time.
